Spirit Of Aloha Oceanfront Botanical Gardens, referred to locally as The Gardens, is a nature preserve off Hana Highway in Haiku, Hawaii. This non-profit is located on the Hawaiian island of Maui and sits in Ua’oa Bay across 11 acres, looking out at Papanui o Kane island in the Pacific Ocean. The area is claimed by the Hawaiian Department of Land and Natural Resources as an official historical site. The Spirit of Aloha Oceanfront Botanical Gardens doubles as a bird sanctuary. It has been certified as a wildlife sanctuary by the National Wildlife Federation.
The main focus at The Gardens is to preserve the flora and some of the fauna that is local to Hawaii. The philosophy this botanical garden was based on is called the Aloha Spirit, which applies to all native Hawaiians and is a law. Simply put, it’s the collaboration between the mind and heart of each person.
Starting at Spirit Of Aloha Oceanfront Botanical Gardens located at 800 Haumana Rd, Haiku, HI 96708, head southeast on Haumana Rd. Turn right to stay on Haumana Rd. Turn right onto State Hwy 36. Turn left onto W Kuiaha Rd, and you’ll reach Baked On Maui, located at 375 W Kuiaha Rd # 37, Haiku, HI 96708.
When you leave Baked On Maui, head southeast on W Kuiaha Rd. Take a sharp left on Haiku Rd and another sharp turn right onto E Kuiaha Rd. Then, you’ll reach Leilani Farm Sanctuary, located at 260 E Kuiaha Rd, Haiku, HI 96708.
On your way out from Leilani Farm Sanctuary and heading north on Kuiaha Rd, turn left on State Hwy 36. Then, turn left on Pauwela Rd with another left turn on Haiku Rd. Next, turn left onto Newman Ln, where you will visit the 4th Marine Division Memorial Park on Newman Ln, Haiku, HI 96708.
After leaving 4th Marine Division Memorial Park, head south on Kokomo Rd before turning right on Kaupakalua Rd. Turn left on Kauhikoa Rd, and you’ll reach NorthShore Zipline Co, located at 2065 Kauhikoa Rd, Haiku, HI 96708.
Then, when you leave NorthShore Zipline Co, head north on Kauhikoa Rd. and head to Aloha Aina BBQ.
From Aloha Aina BBQ, located at 2250 Hana Hwy, Haiku, HI 96708, head southeast on State Highway 36. After a couple of miles, take a left on Haiku Road. Almost immediately, turn left on Hahana Road. Stay on Hahana Road until it deadends at Peahi at 200 Hahana Rd, Haiku, HI 96708.}
From Peahi, head south on Hahana Rd. When you get to State Highway 36, go east. After you pass Kai Huki Street, you’ll see Ahimsa Sanctuary Farm on your left, located at 4505 Hana Hwy, Haiku, HI 96708.
From Ahimsa Sanctuary Farm, head west on State Highway 36. After Haiku Park and Community Center, take a left on Pauwela Road. When Pauwela Road deadends into Haiku Road, take a left. The Waterfall Hike and Chocolate Tour/The Kings Gardens Maui will be on your left at 810 Haiku Rd, Haiku, HI 96708, inside Haiku Market.
From Waterfall Hike & Chocolate Tour / The Kings Gardens Maui, head south. Haiku Road turns into Kokomo Road at this point. Continue on Kokomo Road for 3 miles until you get to Pololei Pl. Go east on Pololei Pl. Aloha Botanicals Maui will be on your right at 2612 Pololei Pl, Haiku, HI 96708.
From Aloha Botanicals Maui, head west on Pololei Pl until you reach Kaluanui Rd. Head south on Kaluanui Rd until it deadends into Baldwin Ave, and head northwest. Head southwest on Haliimaile Rd until it deadends into Haleakala Hwy/HI-37. Head northwest until you get to Hana Hwy/State Highway 36, and then head southwest. Turn left onto Hansen Rd. When Hansen Rd deadends in 2 miles, head south on Maui Veterans Hwy/HI-311. Continue on State Highway 31/Piilani Hwy until it deadends into Wailea Ike Dr. Take an immediate right onto Wailea Gateway Pl. Follow this around until you see Kai Kanani Sailing on your left. Kai Kanani Sailing is located at 108 Wailea Ike Dr Ste 1203, Wailea, HI 96753.
