Beach-Loading Adventures: How Kai Kanani Makes Boarding Fun and Safe

While having a fun and exciting day boating on the pristine waters of Maui is the focus, ensuring safety steps are in place is at the top of the list. With our Kai Kanani boarding protocol for our guests to follow, we make boarding our watercraft fun and safe.

Maui Catamaran Tours – What to Know About Beach-Loading

If this is your first time booking a boat tour with us, we will make the beach-loading Maui process safe and easy at Maluaka Beach. With our experienced and highly trained crew guiding you every step of the way, we will have you on board the boat and ready to ride the waves in a matter of minutes.

Once guests have arrived, you will make your way to the water’s edge and form two lines. The crew will be giving instructions on what to do, what you should watch out for, and help you or a friend, or a family member access the two-step ladder, if needed. Always keep both hands securely gripping the handrails while climbing aboard. Our crew will also be on the lookout for any type of potential hazard, such as the boat’s crossbeam, as you go up the ladder. Please stay focused on what our crew members are saying and follow their instructions so we can get each passenger safely aboard.

Most, if not all, of our guests will have an electronic device, or two, to bring along on the tour. Whether it is a camera, your phone, keys to your vehicle, or any other type of electronic gadget, they too need to be safe. Before boarding, make sure you have all of them placed inside a waterproof bag. If you forget to bring one, just ask, and we will make sure you have one for your items before boarding.

Tips on What to Wear for Maui Boat Tours

If you are wondering what to wear for one of our Maui boat tours, the keywords are comfortable and casual. You also need to wear attire that you will not mind getting wet. The first and most important piece of clothing is swimwear. Whatever your preference is for swimwear, this is what you should have on. You will also want to have a set of clothing to wear over the swimwear. If you bring a waterproof bag, you can pack an extra set of clothing, footwear, and a towel to dry off when you disembark. While onboard, it is your choice if you want to wear your swimwear, or you will feel more comfortable wearing items such as shorts and a T-shirt over your swimwear.

If you have ever walked in the water with a pair of waterproof shoes or a pair of flip-flops, you know it is not always easy to maneuver. When you arrive for the tour, you will be walking across the beach to the area where the boat is waiting. From there, you will be walking through the water to access the catamaran’s ladder. Since we have no control over the weather, be prepared to walk through water of varying heights. We ask that you remove your shoes for this short walk, so there is no opportunity for the water, waves, or sand to pose any issue. Once onboard, you can put your shoes on and get ready for an exciting Maui adventure.

When it comes to footwear, again, it is best to wear something suitable for the beach and water as well as comfortable. Footwear should also provide security against slipping on wet surfaces whenever you are moving about on the boat. Overall, beach attire is what you want to wear.

Benefits of Choosing Our Maui Tours

Maui is a popular destination for those who enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, where scenic landscapes, numerous bird species, an abundance of sea life, and natural underwater reefs can be seen. Molokini Crater is a prime destination for snorkeling, and we can take you there ahead of the crowds when you book our Sunrise Deluxe Snorkel tour. The 3.5-hour tour begins early in the morning with boarding at Maluaka Beach at 6:15 a.m. You will be treated to coffee and fresh cinnamon rolls while watching the sun as it rises. Guests have close to an hour of snorkeling time all to themselves. After snorkeling in the clear water, we head to Maui, where you can swim with Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles at Turtle Town.

You can also step aboard our 65-foot catamaran when booking our Signature Deluxe Snorkel tour, which boards at 9:45 a.m. at Maluaka Beach. The tour is also 3.5 hours, with the Molokini Crater and the Makena Coastline as the two destinations for sightseeing and snorkeling. Like our other tours, food and beverages are part of the package. You will enjoy a gourmet lunch and an open bar for adults to relax with beer, wine, or a cocktail.

For a little romance on the ocean, consider our Adventure Sunset Sail, where guests you will be served delicious food from the Spoon & Key Market along with choices of wine and cocktails. There is also live music while taking in the sights. As the sun begins to set on the horizon, wine is poured again, so everyone can make a toast.
